Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Ensure stakeholders are given sufficient preparation time and information to allow them to contribute effectively in accordance with organisational requirements
       
Element: Ensure venue and other resources are appropriate for the nature of the meeting
       
Element: Allocate discussion time in a way that is consistent with the importance, urgency and complexity of the key points
       
Element: Create and distribute an agenda in advance of the meeting in accordance with meeting protocols
  • Conduct the meeting in a way that follows organisational protocols and achieves the objectives within the allocated time
       
Element: Acknowledge the contributions and viewpoints of others and encourage discussion in a constructive manner
       
Element: Provide information and summaries clearly and at appropriate points during the meeting to assist in mutual understanding and agreement
       
Element: Discourage unhelpful arguments and digressions courteously and with positive direction
       
Element: Encourage constructive feedback from those attending and use to improve the effectiveness of future meetings
       
Element: Close the meeting by summarising the meeting outcomes and further actions
  • Provide clear, accurate and concise information about decisions and recommendations made at the meeting to relevant stakeholders

Assessment Tasks

Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
